The process

Within a MS Word document, MCINTOSHFORMS™ uses regular expressions (regexes) and grammatical forms (letters, words, phrases, and orthography) to isolate morphological structures, syntactic structures, and orthographic structures (i.e., hyphenation that forms compound words and punctuation that divide text into sentences, clauses, etc.).

The regexes have been formulated for use via the advanced (Wildcards) search field in MS Word. A regex is entered into the advanced search dialog, the Find tool, to isolate a morphological structure, a syntactic structure, or an orthographic structure. The result will allow you to analyze/review a grammatical form, a grammatical function, or a grammatical constituent. It can also help you identify and/or remove any errors or ambiguities.

The result

The process-method of McIntoshLinguistics helps ensure your edit will result in the construction of a highly readable (close reading) and grammatically sound (effective writing) literary manuscript.
